HEATHROW CARGO TUNNEL REFURBISHMENT

Re-lining of the Cargo Tunnel.  Procurement, supply of all labour, plant and materials, testing and commissioning required for the fixing of the Passive Fire Protection and Reflective Wall Cladding . 

The Cargo Tunnel provides a critical operational link between the Terminal 4/Cargo area and the Central Terminal Area (CTA). It facilitates many vehicle movements for cargo, catering, maintenance vehicles, airport operations and transferring passengers.

ROYAL MAIL GROUP

The Mount Pleasant Mail Centre remains a critical part of Royal Mail’s operational infrastructure in the capital. The project to enhance the site was delivered in three phases, with the centre having to remain operational throughout. Chisholm & Winch completed the first two phases on time and on budget to exacting quality, financial, programming and health & safety standards and was therefore awarded phase 3 of the project. To deliver phase 1 and 2, Chisholm & Winch worked in the occupied Royal Mail Depot to convert the existing basement into new offices, toilets, canteen, gym, changing rooms, mail distribution areas, plant rooms and parking. The third phase saw Chisholm & Winch demolish heavy duty loading locks, fit-out a new gatehouse, construct new docking bay extensions and install roller shutters as well as add a new biophilic green façade to the building.
